The Ghajnsielem Local Council has embarked on another project, this time the restoration of the statue and niche of St Francis (1928) in St Anthony Street.
The work has been entrusted to restorer Rudolph Cauchi.
The Council has already completed restoration works on the Madonna of Porto Salvo (Independence Square), the chimney of the WW2 water pump station (Mgarr Valley) and the Our Lady of Mount Carmel (Mgarr Road).
Ghajnsielem Local Council said that “although the Council has very limited resources for such projects, we want to ensure that our heritage is preserved.”
