Science in the Citadel - One-day science extravaganza in GozoThe one-day science extravaganza – Science in the Citadel – is once again being held within the historic walls of the Citadel in Victoria.

Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri launched this fourth edition, organised by the Directorate of EcoGozo within the Ministry for Gozo, saying that the event is returning after a three-year absence and is intended to celebrate science and technology.

Minister Camilleri explained that ‘Science in the Citadel’ aims to promote education and the involvement of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) among the general public.

“Nowadays this has become part of the cultural calendar and is a popular event that attracts visitors from Malta and Gozo. With today’s technological advances, such events bring us close to the technological and scientific world, and now more than ever, science is becoming a necessary subject for our living,” he said.

During the event, visitors can participate in interactive exhibits, hands-on activities, and demonstrations that showcase the latest scientific research and technological innovations. It will also consist of workshops, a treasure hunt with a scientific and cultural impact, meetings with researchers and industry experts.

The Minister for Gozo concluded by saying that in this free festival there will be something for the whole family to enjoy and encouraged everyone to attend this celebration of science and technology.

‘Science in the Citadel’ will be held in all areas of the Citadel, on Sunday, the 14th of May, between 10am and 6pm.
