A framed image depicting the titular and miraculous statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, was presented by Can. Simon M. Cachia Parish Priest of Fontana, to Mayor Saviour Borg on behalf of the Local Council.
As part of the celebrations organised to commemorate the first centenary from the donation of this statue by its artist Comm. Agostino Camilleri, the Parish took the initiative to donate these frames to a number of entities in appreciation of their collaboration in these extraordinary celebrations.
The original painting was done by Gozitan artist Marvic Camilleri.
The presentation was made during the last Council meeting held by the Fontana Local Council at the locality’s Community Hall.
Whilst thanking the Parish Priest, the Mayor explained how the Council also took special initiatives to commemorate the historical donation of the devout statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
