During the second quarter of 2023 total guests and nights spent in Gozo increased by 15.7% to 29,179 and by 17.4% to 84,004 respectively on 2022, the National Statistics Office said today.
The NSO noted that during that same period, the data shows that the average length of stay in Gozo went up by 0.1 of a night to 2.9 nights. The net occupancy rate in Gozo increased by 3.4 percentage points to 43.9%.
On a national basis, over the same period, total guests in collective accommodation establishments amounted to 630,859, up by 22.1% when compared to the corresponding period of 2022.
Total nights spent during the period under review reached 2,656,752, an increase of 16.9% over quarter two of last year.
During April-June 2023, the largest share of guest nights (46.9%) was reported in 4-star hotels.
Net use of bed-places in the second quarter of this year increased by 9.7 percentage points to 68.4%, the NSO said.
