Work on Triq Santa Dminka in Victoria has been completed and it is now reopened to traffic.
Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri visited the finished road, which was completed through an investment of more than €830,000, he said.
Water and drainage services were changed, a water culvert was added to alleviate the problem of flooding and tarmacking was carried out.
“We have now completed Triq Santa Dminka and will continue to improve the infrastructure in Victoria, Gozo,” the Minister said.
He added that, “in the coming days the work will start on Triq ta Wara s-Sur and subsequently it will continue for the new junction as well as Triq Wied Sara.”
The Minister said that “this is part of the strategy that the Government has for Victoria, with a number of important roads to be rebuilt and the bottlenecks addressed thereby alleviating the traffic problem.”
“The ultimate goal above all is to eliminate traffic from the centre of Gozitan towns and villages and to give back more space to the public,” concluded Minister Camilleri.
