World Soil Day was marked in Gozo with an interesting and engaging webinar that explored the fascinating world beneath our feet.
The webinar was organised by GLOBE Malta, in collaboration with Europe Direct Gozo.
The highlight of the webinar included an insightful presentation by Mr. Yashraj Patil, who discussed the importance of soil and the impact of climate change on this vital resource.
Mr. Stephen Mifsud from EcoGozo, shared valuable insights about rubble walls, emphasising their significance for soil health and their role as habitats for diverse flora and fauna.
Special guests, Mr. Daniel Borg from Europe Direct Gozo, Ms. Bara Semerakova from GLOBE Europe and Eurasia RCO, and Ms Ramona Mercieca, from GLOBE Malta, added to the enriching experience by providing valuable comments and feedback.
The webinar concluded on an interactive note, with the young students engaging in a question and answer session with the speakers, sparking insightful discussions.
