24 new benches have been installed by the Fontana Local Council along the belvedere of John Gaspard Le Marchant and Cardinal Alessandro Franchi streets.
The Council said that the major part of the costs of the benches were paid from funds through the Gozo Region Environment Scheme 2021 which the Council had applied for.
The remainder of the costs were paid from winning second prize at the Malta Waste Reduction Awards 2023, it said.
