Gozo: What the PL says in words, it does not practice with facts – PN

Gozo: What the PL says in words, it does not practice with facts - PNThe Nationalist Party noted that this morning the Labour Party organised an activity on a sustainable model in Gozo.

However, the PN argued that ”unfortunately what the Labour Party says in words it does not practice with facts and we have seen this with the lack of sustainability in Gozo in the last 11 years.”

In a statement on Tuesday, the Nationalist Party insisted that it is ”committed to securing and giving priority to Gozo. There be a plan that establishes separately the priorities of Gozo and that these are identified by the Gozitan people themselves.”

The PN stated that it will ”ensure that the funds for Gozo are increased and will help to create more quality jobs in Gozo, while initiatives are taken to offer a better life in Gozo, including in the social, educational and environmental fields.”

The Nationalist Party concluded by saying that, ”both on a national level and through its Local Councillors, will also continue to work for Gozo to maintain its unique characteristics, while remaining committed to ensuring that every locality in Gozo maintains its character.”

On Tuesday morning during a business breakfast organised by the Labour Party in Gozo, Prime Minister Robert Abela claimed that this was a Government ”that believes in Gozo and with what happens on this island we will continue to evolve the economic model of our country and will then respond to the priorities and needs of our people.”

He referred to the strategy of ”Gozo as an Island of Villages” and how ”this is one of development, which has never been here in our country, and with what is planned it is really important for this island to keep moving forward.”

Gozo and Planning Minister Clint Camilleri, stressed how at the ”forefront of the Government’s agenda is that the island of Gozo continues to make progress, through necessary changes in favour of quality of the lives of its residents.”

Speaking about tourism, he noted how, ”last year alone, 1.3 million tourists visited the Gozitan island,” which he claimed, ”does not include the thousands of Maltese who cross over to this island. weekly island.”

Second – how many of this tourists are day trippers and how many are from Cruise ships?
These people, do not let money on our island.
