The Nationalist Party has said that it is presenting more candidates for Gozo’s Local Council than the Labour Party, ”which shows how much Gozo is a priority for the Nationalist Party.”
Shadow Minister Alex Borg and the President of the PN College of Local Councillors Charles Bonello, speaking at a news conference in Xaghra, said that the Nationalist Party wants to see that the local Civic Centre project is completed as soon as possible, as well as updating the existing open spaces that need new life.
He added that ”among other proposals, the PN in Xaghra will be putting pressure on the Central Government so that, as much as possible, the roads are maintained in a good state, including adequate and frequent cleaning. And in support of local businesses, the launch of initiatives that support and promote local enterprises, especially with activities that are often held in the square.
The speakers also explained that the PN wants to expand educational opportunities in partnership with educational institutions to hold workshops, courses, exchanges and extra-curricular activities that satisfy the various interests and needs of the Xaghra residents.
They added that local NGOs that organise existing and new sports-related activities will also be supported by providing logistical and tangible assistance for the organisation of their activities.
