The fourth Annual Seabed Clean up, organised by the GreenPak scheme operated by Green Dot Malta Ltd, took place on Satuday, the 31st of October. This year’s campaign “Cleaning the seabed in one big sweep” attempted to clean up a number of localities in Malta and Gozo simultaneously.
As in previous years, this initiative attracted many divers and volunteers to help, by giving up their free time to assist with removing the rubbish that is dumped by irresponsible persons during the summer months.
Several Local Councils took part in Saturday’s event, Munxar (Xlendi Bay), Zebbug (Marsalforn Bay), St. Paul’s Bay (Fekruna – Xemxija/Gillieru area – St Paul’s Bay), Qrendi (Wied iz-Zurrieq), Sliema (Exiles), St Julians (Dragonara Reef), and Marsascala (Zonqor).
