The Government has said that at the end of this week payment of the Additional Cost of Living Benefit is being made to almost 500 more families that do not receive any social security benefits.
The Ministry for Social Police and Children’s Rights said that with this application the Division for Income Support and Compliance within the Department for Social Security was able to assess through information the income of the applicants from the Tax Department to confirm entitlement to receive this benefit.
Therefore, this weekend 493 new beneficiaries are being paid €141,000 between them.
The Ministry added that in total, during 2024, 99,055 families will have received the Additional Cost of Living Benefit with a total investment of €33.1 million.
