The police said in a statement given today that a 33-year old Gozitan was arrested at Cirkewwa after the anti-drug squad spotted him driving in a suspicous manner. The squad were conducting a routine check of vehicles that were boarding the ferry.
The police stopped the vehicle and apprehended the driver after 80 grams of heroin were found in the car.
An enquiry in underway and is being led by magistrate Silvio Meli.
