The latest data from the National Statistics Office show that the number of registered unemployed in July increased by 224 persons over last year, to 1,121.
Figures from the NSO revealed that males accounted for 69.1%, or 775 of total registrants, while females accounted for the remaining 30.9%, or 346 registrants.
The NSO noted that increases in the registered unemployment levels were recorded in all age groups.
The number of persons with a disability registering for work increased by 4 persons over the same period in 2023, reaching 230. Males accounted for 74.8% of total registrants with a disability.
Clerical support jobs were the most common occupations sought by the registered unemployed.
