Minister for Gozo and Planning Clint Camilleri has said that the Ministry is continuing to invest in the Animal Welfare Section through the Eco-Gozo Directorate.
During a visit to the Animal Welfare Gozo premises at Xewkija, the Minister said that this investment includes modernisation of the administrative offices so that the workers have a more suitable place to operate.
An area has also been equipped where sick cats can be given the necessary care and work is currently underway on a building that will eventually house 28 dog care rooms.
Animal Welfare Gozo also has an ambulance service “which operates twenty four hours a day, seven days a week,” to assist injured stray animals around Gozo, the Minister said.
