29,086 students started the new scholastic school in all State schools today covering primary year to the eleventh year of secondary school. 5,911 students at the kindergarten level start their school year on the 1st of October.
8,237 educators in State schools returned to work on Monday.
The Government said that for this school year 235 new professionals were employed including educators, while 544 contracts of other professionals were also renewed.
It added that during this school year there will be 3,449 free school transport routes, of which 931 are for State school students. A total of 33,761 students from kindergarten to secondary school (14,031 from the State and 19,730 from the Church and Independent) will benefit from this service.
