The Tac-Cawla social housing project in Victoria is almost completed. This was announced during a visit to the site by Minister for Gozo and Planning Clint Camilleri, together with Minister for Social and Affordable Accommodation Roderick Galdes
“We are now ensuring that the soft areas of the area are given attention so that we have kept our word with the surrounding residents and the prospective tenants who will benefit from these eight new apartments,” said Minister Camilleri.
Minister for Social and Affordable Accommodation Roderick Galdes stated that this social housing project will continue to be a shoulder for those individuals who need the help and support of the State.
It was explained that the regeneration project of the Tac-Cawla area is being carried out on 3,750 square metres of land, of which 330 square metres, or 9% of the existing space, will be dedicated to social housing. The rest of the space – three acres – is being generated with a playing field, outdoor gyms, a recreational area with water features as well as extensive landscaping.
The Ministers claimed that “this project has ensured that no tree will be lost, on the contrary, more native trees will be planted in the area.”
