The National Statistics Office said that outbound tourist trips in the first three quarters of this year reached 641,480 (+7.7%) while total nights spent almost reached 4.3 million nights (+3.4%).
It noted that total tourism expenditure from January to September 2024 was estimated at €597.4 million (+10.9%) while expenditure per capita stood at €931 (+3.0%).
Outbound tourist trips from July to September reached 273,082 (+10.1%), while total nights spent amounted to 1,883,519 nights (+3.6%).
Italy remained the most popular destination with a share of 44.1%.
The NSO noted that the majority of guest nights (57.3%) were spent in rented accommodation establishments.
