Police arrested a 49-year old man from Xaghra earlier today when officers from the Gozo Mobile Squad, who were on routine partrol in the village, noticed some suspicious activity around a car.
Nothing was found on the suspect when he has searched, but when the car was checked leaves thought to be cannabis were discovered. Police then carried out a raid on the suspects home, where drug related equipment was found. Five cannabis plants were then found in the man’s field.
The police are continuing with their investigations.
