25 Maltese nativity scenes on display at the European Parliament

Ghajnsielem Mayor Kevin Cauchi said that it was was a pleasure to attend and be part of the opening of the 4th edition of the exhibition – The Maltese Nativity Scene: Art, Faith and Tradition – by the ‘Ghimmanu-El Ghaqda Presepisti Ghajnsielem Gozo’ at the European Parliament in Brussels.

The exhibition consists of 25 nativity scenes, including two large ones representing Vittoriosa and Marsa. MEP Alex Agius Saliba, who organised the exhibition, said that it is the largest exhibition of Maltese nativity scenes ever organised abroad.

Mayor Cauchi stated that “it is certainly an honour for Ghajnsielem and for our country. Congratulations to this hard-working organisation and to its volunteers, artists and crib makers who took part.”

He expressed thanks to organiser MEP Alex Agius Saliba, and to the Ministry for Gozo and Planning as well as the Ministry for National Heritage, Arts and Local Councils together with the Ghajnsielem Local Council for the support.

‘Ghimmanu-El Ghaqda Presepisti Ghajnsielem Gozo’ [1] also expressed its “heartfelt thanks to all the participants and official sponsors for making this dream a reality.”

This exhibition is being staged at the European Parliament in Brussels this week by the Ministry for National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government and the Ministry for Gozo and Planning.
