The Environment and Resources Authority is inviting the public to submit any feedback or comments on the intent and objectives for an updated Noise Action Plan, which it said, is designed to tackle environmental noise issues across the Maltese Islands.
The ERA, in collaboration with the Ministry for the Environment, Energy and Public Cleanliness (MEEC) is preparing the updated NAP under the Environmental Noise Directive 2002/49/EC (END).
The updated NAP focuses on addressing and managing environmental noise from road traffic, air traffic, and industrial sources, the ERA said.
It explained that “noise as a nuisance and environmental noise pollution are different and are not interchangeable. It is continuous long term exposure to noise that exceeds a limit that harms the environment that is considered as pollution.”
The closing date to submit feedback is the 18th of December. For further information, including on how to make a submission, please click here [1].
