Imam Laiq Ahmed Atif, President Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Malta, together with the community members visited the OASI Centre, Victoria, Gozo, this week.
During the visit he presented a gift of festive delights on behalf of the Ahmadiyya Community for all the residents and people who benefit from the services of OASI foundation.
Mr. Noel Xerri, Head of the OASI Foundation and other staff members welcomed them and briefed them about the services of the foundation that can be divided into three categories, primary prevention, immediate intervention and treatment and rehabilitation.
Imam Atif said that serving mankind is a core principle and basic tenet of Islamic teachings and the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community always tries its utmost to serve mankind in any way possible. He appreciated and commended the services provided by the OASI Foundation.
He also said that it is “our collective responsibility to help those in need so they can come out of the difficult phase of their life and live normal life within the society.”
Imam Atif highlighted the point that prevention is always better than cure, therefore, it is very important to raise more awareness about the substance use.
