“The existing terminal at Mgarr Port, Gozo, is large enough to accommodate passengers for both Gozo Channel ferries and those for the Fast Ferry,” said Minister for Transport Chris Bonett.
He added that therefore, “for the sake of good governance, a new terminal will not be built, but the use of the existing terminal will be maximised. The Minister said that “in the future, minor interventions will be made so that passengers using the Fast Ferry have the same service as those using the Gozo Channel.”
The Transport Minister was replying to a Parliamentary Question tabled by Opposition MP Chris Said, who had asked for a response in “concrete terms, when it is intended to build and make a permanent terminal for people waiting to board the fast ferry at Mgarr, who suffer great inconvenience as they wait as they have no place to take shelter from the weather elements.”
