Police have carried out around 30 roadside checks on buses and vans across major roads on the islands during the past week, with over 370 vehicles inspected.
The Police, in collaboration with RoadPol member countries, participated in the initiative “European Truck and Bus Week,” where roadside inspections were coordinated across Malta and Gozo.
84 citations were issued by Officers as well as, charging 14 drivers, and confiscated 1 vehicle for illegalities which include overloaded cargo, faulty lights, using a mobile phone while driving, and driving without a valid license, among others.
