Neil Agius set off this morning from Ramla Bay in Gozo on Day 1 of the Gozo 7 challenge. He started off the swim with a 1.5 metre swell and around 15 knots of wind as he departed.
Minister for Gozo and Planning Clint Camilleri met with Neil, just a few hours before he embarked on this challenge.
The Minister said that “as the Ministry for Gozo and Planning, through the Tourism Directorate, we will be giving our support to Neil in this new challenge – I am convinced that once again, Neil will emerge with honours.”
‘The Gozo 7’ challenge is planned to be completed by the 6th of September.
This initiative will involve Neil swimming 15 hours a day covering 42 kilometres, for seven consecutive days around the island of Gozo.
