On his first day of work as the new Leader of the Nationalist Party, Alex Borg began with a meeting with Adrian Delia. Tomorrow Borg will take the oath of office as Leader of the Opposition
During the meeting, which took place in the office of the Leader PN, Alex Borg and Adrian Delia discussed how they will continue working together with the rest of the PN Parliamentary Group so that the Party “continues to strengthen itself, following a campaign which demonstrated that this is a vibrant Party and that its members truly believe in it.”
Alex Borg was also invited on NET FM for his first radio interview, during which he reiterated his belief in people-centred politics. He once again emphasised his commitment to being close to the people so that he can convey the message of the Nationalist Party.
Borg then visited all employees of the Nationalist Party and NET Media, including the HR office, the Sales and Marketing department, the Accounts office, the management of NET Media, the Net News newsroom, the editors, camera operators and photographers, the NET FM staff and technicians, the Informa Library, the Communications Office, those responsible for event setups, as well as the front office staff.
Later, he also took part in the first meetings of the PN Executive Committee and the Administrative Council as the new PN Leader, thereby ensuring that the Party’s work continued immediately from where it had been left before Saturday’s election.
For the Administrative Council meeting, the PN Leader also invited Adrian Delia, who contested the election for Leader of the Nationalist Party with him. Both addressed the members of the Administrative Council and affirmed that the only winner from this election was the PN.
Alex Borg and Adrian Delia declared that following a campaign which reflected the renewed enthusiasm within the PN, from now onwards they “will be working together in a collective effort to ensure the strengthening of the Party.”
Tomorrow at 4pm, Alex Borg will take the oath of office as Leader of the Opposition at the President’s Palace in Valletta.
NET TV, NET FM, and the PN’s social media pages will broadcast the swearing-in ceremony live in a special programme starting at 3.45pm.
