The Programme of events has been announced for this year’s Gozo Regional Carnival celebrations.
The programme of events is as as follows:
Friday, the 12th of February 2010:
10.00am: The Carnival of Children for Children with the participation of companies from local dance schools in St. Augustine’s Square, Victoria, beginning with a parade from St Francis Square.
19.00pm: Opening spectacle of the Gozo Carnival 2010 in St. Augustine’s Square, Victoria, with the participation of dance companies, music groups, grotesque masks and traditional floats. Entry free.
Saturday, the 13th of February 2010:
10.00am: Defile with the participation of dance school companies from Gozo from St Francis Square, Palm Street, Republic Street for Independence Square. Carnival of Children then held in the enclosure of Independence Square.
7.30pm: “La Notte in Maschera” – Carnival night with a variety of activities for the family all in the historical center of Victoria organised with the Victoria Local Council.
Sunday, the 14th of February 2010:
3.00pm: Grand Defile along Republic Street from Kennedy Square to Savina Square with the participation dance companies, music groups, grotesque masks and traditional floats, dance and entertainment karnivalesk in the enclosure in Independence Square, Victoria. Entry in the enclosure is by tickets which can be obtained from the Banca Giuratale on Monday, the 8th of February 2010. Price € 5.00
Monday, the 15th of February 2010:
Local Carnival PM in Gozitan villages organised by their local councils.
Tuesday, the 16th of February 2010:
6.30pm: Defile – Entertainment for the final evening of Gozo Carnival along Republic Street between Savina Square and Kennedy Square where there will also be a spectacle of local dance companies participating in Gozo Carnival 2010. Participation by dance companies, music groups, grotesque masks and traditional floats.
The Nadur Spontaneous Carnival will take place from the 12th to the16th of February.
