The Building and Construction Authority (BCA) and the Occupational Health and Safety Authority (OHSA) in a joint statement on Saturday evening, said that they are investigating an incident that occurred earlier in Triq San Gwann Bosco together with Triq Pawlu Portelli, Victoria.
The authorities said that In this incident, “some structures adjacent to a construction site collapsed.”
As a precautionary measure, the authorities together with Civil Protection and Police officers, evacuated people from adjacent residences.
The authorities advised that an order was also issued to stop all forms of works until investigations are carried out.
Gozo was hit by a strong thunderstorm and torrential rain on Saturday afternoon, and in Victoria around 42mm of rain was recorded.
