The Universal Church will, next Wednesday celebrate the Liturgical Feast of Pope Saint John Paul II, who 35 years ago on the parvis of the Ta’ Pinu Basilica celebrated the first Papal Mass by a Pope in the Maltese Islands.
The JP2 Foundation said that this year also marks the 20th anniversary of his death. A Eucharistic Celebration will be held at the Ta’ Pinu Basilica at 6.30pm, on Wednesday, the 20th of October.
To commemorate these anniversaries, a concert “IL-GRAJJA li qat ma tintesa…” will be take place on Friday, the 24th of October, at 7.30pm.
The event will host local violinist Pierre Louis Attard accompanied on the piano by international pianist Milica Lawrence in the Hall under the parvis of the Ta’ Pinu Complex.
The concert will include works by Mro. Stephen Attard.
This concert is being sponsored by the Gharb Local Council. Everyone is invited to attend.
