Palazzo Francesco in Lija, which serves as the building of the Ministry for Inclusion and Volunteering, will be hosting one of the most festive and unique events of this season for a Christmas market with the theme of Christmas with the Associations, in collaboration with various voluntary organisations.
The Ministry said that this event will be held in the historic setting of Palazzo Francesco until the 21st of December, which will be opened to the public for the first time – giving this celebration a much more special dimension.
The market was officially opened on Friday, in the presence of President Myriam Spiteri Debono.
Visitors will be able to enjoy a number of Christmas themed stands, run by various voluntary organisations. All proceeds from the market will go directly to their social causes, making this event not only an occasion for festivities, but also a gesture of solidarity and generosity.
The festive atmosphere will be enhanced by live music from 13 band groups from various localities around Malta, who will be playing throughout the three days. Children will also find continuous entertainment through animations, games and Christmas mascots that will roam the market.
Maltese tradition will be given special prominence through an exhibition of around 20 nativity scenes, artistically displayed and accessible to the public.
The Ministry advised that in order to ensure that the event is organised and accessible to all, a park-and-ride service will be offered between the Giovanni Curmi Higher Secondary car park and Palazz Francesco. The market will also be fully accessible to persons with disabilities.
Christmas with the Associations will also be open on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st December between 10am and 11pm.
