The number of tourists visiting Gozo during 2025 including both same-day and overnight visitors totalled 2,305.968 or 57.3% of total tourists (4,022,310), this was a 13.3% increase on the previous year, the National Statistics Office said today.
The figure for the year was made up of 192,021 overnight visitors, which was a 6.9% increase on the previous year and 2,113,947 same day visitors, which was a 13.9% increase.
The NSO also noted that 94,251 tourists visited Gozo during December, including both same-day (86,706) and overnight (7,545) or 41.9% of total tourists for the Maltese Islands (225,104).
The figure was an increase of 24.4% on the same period in 2024, the NSO said.
On a national basis, total inbound tourists for December were estimated at 225,104, an increase of 17.0% when compared to the corresponding month in 2024.
Total nights spent amounted to 1,383,810, and total expenditure reached €162.9 million.
The largest share of guest nights (85.4%) was spent in rented accommodation establishments.
Inbound tourists for 2025 amounted to 4,022,310, while total nights reached 25.4 million.
The NSO said that total tourist expenditure for 2025 was estimated at €3,904.4 million, while expenditure per capita stood at €971.
