The Nationalist Party said that it remains committed to ensuring that organisations are given all the support they need in order to help those in need, including children and young people.
This was the main message delivered by Leader of the PN Alex Borg during a visit to the Salesians of Don Bosco in Sliema, who have been serving the community since 1903 through educational, religious and social work, with a particular emphasis on the formation and support of children and young people.
The PN Leader expressed his and the PN’s appreciation for the valuable contribution the Salesians have made to the country over the years through the Oratory, St Patrick’s School, Dar Osanna Pia and Dar Mamma Margherita, as well as through their historic printing press.
During the visit, Alex Borg had the opportunity to hear about the challenges faced by today’s youth, especially those living in vulnerable situations, while recognising the need for society to continue investing in safe and supportive environments.
He also visited the Ursuline Sisters, who for many years have been welcoming and caring for babies and children.
Alex Borg reiterated the importance of a society that moves forward without leaving anyone behind. He stressed the need for institutions and the wider community to work together to provide a better future for our children and young people.
Accompanied by Shadow Minister for Neurodiversity and Child Protection Albert Buttigieg, Shadow Minister for Social and Affordable Housing, the Fight against Poverty and Loneliness Ivan Bartolo, and PN candidate for the general election Norma Camilleri, Alex Borg was welcomed, among others, by the Provincial of the Salesians of Don Bosco Fr Eric Cachia SDB and the Rector of the Oratory Fr Gerald Mangion SDB.
