On Maundy Thursday, the Chrism Mass was held at the Gozo Cathedral, led by the Bishop of Gozo Anton Teuma. This is a Solemn Mass of the Blessing of the Holy Oils and the Renewal of Priestly Vows.
Before his homily the Bishop said ”I would like to express my ‘heartfelt gratitude to all of you, dear priests. We are here to thank God, but I think it is fitting that today we thank each other very much.”
Bishop Teuma added, ”I thank you, first and foremost, because without you, our entire work would not be possible.”
”Therefore, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your work, for your suffering, for your sacrifices, for the worries you bear because of your pastoral work. And thank you to your family members who care for you.
”Thank you to those who care for you, both physically and spiritually,” Bishop Teuma concluded.
