Earlier this week, the President of the European Parliament, Dr Roberta Metsola was in Gozo, where she visited the Victoria Local Council office at the Banca Giuratale.
Dr Metsola was greeted by Mayor of Victoria Brian Azzopardi, who, together with the Chairman of the Victoria 31 Foundation, Dr Samuel Azzopardi, and Foundation member Prof. Maria Frendo, discussed Victoria’s bid to become the European Capital of Culture.
The Victoria Mayor said that, ”it is a great source of satisfaction for us that the President acknowledged the work being carried out to achieve this prestigious goal.”
Mayor Azzopardi concluded by saying that ”we will continue working with dedication, passion, and vision so that the City of Victoria keeps moving forward on its journey to attain this unique title.”
