National Statistics Office data released today revealed that 227, 162 tourists visited Gozo during April, including both same-day (209,750) and overnight (17,412) or 55.5% of total tourists for the Maltese Islands (409,403).
The figure was an increase of 17.0% on the same period in 2025, the NSO said.
The number of tourists visiting Gozo for the first four months of 2026 including both same-day and overnight visitors totalled 577,358, including both same-day (539,438) and overnight (37,919) or 47.5% of total tourists. This was a 9.6% increase on the previous year, the National Statistics Office said.
On a national basis, total inbound tourists for April were estimated at 409,403, an increase of 16.6% when compared to the corresponding month in 2025.
Total nights spent amounted to 2,130,733, and total expenditure reached €335.0 million.
The largest share of guest nights (89.2%) was spent in rented accommodation establishments.
Inbound tourists for the first four months of 2026 amounted to 1,215,966, while total nights reached 6.6 million.
The NSO said that total tourist expenditure for January to April was estimated at €919.7 million, while expenditure per capita stood at €756.
