A reminder that this weekend the Gozo Food Festival returns to Xewkija, combining gastronomy with culture and entertainment.
This year there will also be a big screen World Cup experience, as well as children’s entertainment.
As part of the cultural experience, an immersive spectacle will be staged next to the church commemorating the 475th anniversary of the Siege and Invasion of Gozo in 1551, where history will be combined with modern technology to offer a modern visual experience.
Visitors to this weekend celebration of food and much more, will have the opportunity to taste different flavours including Asian, quality Mediterranean delights, best of Europe, South America and genuine Gozitan delicacies.
It will be a celebration of flavours, music and fun for everyone, with a welcoming wine garden and immersive exhibits, to name but a few.
There will be brewery stands and special wines available for a tasting experience, all accompanied by a special set of live musicians on both evenings.
Not forgetting dessert lovers, there will be an overwhelming choice of Gozitan sweets and home-made ice creams, to name just a few.
Entrance to the food festival is free of charge – Food and drinks can be purchased separately.
The Festival is taking place on Friday and Saturday, the 10th and 11th of July, from 6pm until midnight both evenings in the main square.
Malta Public Transport will operate a regular service between Mgarr and Xewkija during both evenings.
The Gozo Special Edition is organised by the Xewkija Local Council with the support of the Ministry for Gozo.
