Seventy-four students with disabilities are benefiting from the Voice for Inclusion Summer Club 2026 in Gozo, an initiative that is offering them an inclusive, interesting and supportive environment where they can develop their skills, build new friendships and enjoy wonderful experiences during the summer. This is being done through an investment of €150,000, the Government said.
This programme is made possible through collaboration between Agenzija Sapport, the Foundation for Educational Services (FES) and the Ministry for Gozo.
Minister for Inclusion and Volunteering Julia Farrugia, Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri and Minister for Education and Sport Byron Camilleri visited one of the sessions of this club.
The Voice for Inclusion Summer Club began on July the 13th and runs until September the 11th. Sessions are held Monday to Friday, between 8:15am and 12:15pm, with a break between August 10th and 14th.
Through activities adapted to the different needs and abilities of participants, the programme creates opportunities for children and youth with disabilities to continue learning, express their creativity, strengthen independence, and develop social relationships in a safe and inclusive environment.
Minister Farrugia said that this initiative continues to demonstrate the Government’s commitment to a more just and inclusive society. “With this investment, we are ensuring that children and young people with disabilities have the same opportunities as their peers to participate, learn and enjoy summer experiences.”
Minister Camilleri stated that “through funding from the Government, more than 70 students were able to attend the Voice for Inclusion Summer Club which welcomes dozens of children with disabilities so that they can continue to train, enjoy their summer in a safe environment, as well as continue to develop their skills.”
Minister Byron Camilleri said, “SkolaSajf should be a service that reaches everyone. Therefore, when we talk about inclusion, we do not want to stop at principles, but ensure that every child has the support and opportunities they need to participate, learn and develop their skills.”
He added that ”through the Foundation for Educational Services and the collaboration with Voice for Inclusion and the entities involved, we are ensuring that children and young people with disabilities in Gozo have an educational, safe and supportive environment, with support that responds to their individual needs, while also providing important support to their families. This is the inclusion that we want to continue to strengthen in SkolaSajf and in the entire education system: one that translates into concrete action, removes obstacles and creates opportunities so that every person can participate and reach their potential.”
