National Statistics Office data released today revealed that 314,708 tourists visited Gozo during July, including both same-day (284,987) and overnight (29,721) or 64.3% of total tourists for the Maltese Islands (457,636).
The figure was an increase of 19.7% on the same period in 2025, the NSO said.
The number of tourists visiting Gozo from January to July of 2026 including both same-day and overnight visitors totalled 1,438,280, same-day (1,321,398) and overnight (116,882) or 54.9% of total tourists. This was a 15.0% increase on the previous year, the National Statistics Office said.
On a national basis, total inbound tourists for July were estimated at 489,494 an increase of 20.8% when compared to the corresponding month in 2025.
Total nights spent amounted to 3,191,483 and total expenditure reached €538.4 million.
The largest share of guest nights (88.4%) was spent in rented accommodation establishments.
Inbound tourists for the first seven months of 2026 amounted to 2,621,319 while total nights reached 14.9 million.
The NSO said that total tourist expenditure for January to July was estimated at €2,334.0 million, while expenditure per capita stood at €890.
