Final day celebrations of Lejlet Lapsi Notte Gozitana 2010

This morning, the Notte Gozitana weekend got underway with a Gozo Musical Tattoo. Boy Scouts and Boys’ Brigades Bands from Scout Groups from Hamrun, St Venera, Marsa, Mosta, Naxxar, Msida, Cospicua left from a number of different locations in Victoria, including St Francis and St Augustine squares, the Capuchins, Pope John Paul II Street, Tac-Cawla and Fortunato Mizzi Street and then proceeded to to Savina Square. From there, they marched along Republic Street and ended with a fall out in Kennedy Square.Final day celebrations of Lejlet Lapsi Notte Gozitana 2010The Federicus Rex Society put on a display of falconry and other birds of prey on St Michael Bastion at the Citadel. There was also an enclosure where the birds could be viewed by both children and adults at close quarters. The above photograph shows the Minister for Gozo, Giovanna Debono, being introduced to one of the birds of prey.Final day celebrations of Lejlet Lapsi Notte Gozitana 2010The Gruppo Sbandieratori e Musici ‘Maestri’ from Sicily, gave a spectacular display of flag throwing at various points around the streets and squares of Victoria, as well as within the walls of the Cittadella.

Lejlet Lapsi Notte Gozitana 2010 concludes this evening with an official concert at 8pm at Independence Square by the Gozo Youth Wind Band and Orchestra directed by Mro. Joseph Grech.
