The Leone Philharmonic Society of Victoria Gozo, would like to announce to the general public that the repeat performance of Leone Goes Pop (3rd edition) to be held in Marsalforn Bay, has been moved one week ahead, due to unforeseen circumstances, and will now be held on Tuesday, July the 20th, 2010 at 9pm.
This performance will be put up in aid of Puttinu Cares; the voluntary foundation which helps families of children suffering from cancer. Puttinu Cares aims to advocate on behalf of the affected children and their families by representing their needs and offer moral and financial support amongst other things.
Thus the repeat performance of Leone Goes Pop (3rd edition), on July 20th, will once again be free of charge, with seating provided on a first-come-first-served basis. Donations will be collected during the event by volunteers from the Puttinu Cares Foundation. The public is warmly invited to attend and support this good cause.
The performance is a ‘repeat’ as far as the repertoire is concerned. Spectacle, gimmicks, humour and all, will be redirected and rephrased within a more summery context to reflect the time and the venue i.e. a mini-harbour and beach. The Leone Band organising Society pledges another unforgettable experience.
Colin Attard will lead the Leone Band through some of the best ever-greens by Eric Clapton, The Beatles, Eros Ramazzotti, Elton John, Michael Jackson, The Village People, and others, with the guest participation of Nadine Axisa and Mario Caruana.
The performance is being supported by Cisk (Farsons) and Citadel Insurance together with the Ministry for Gozo.
