Birdlife Malta has said that a Honey-buzzard was found floating in the sea off the Freeport on Sunday.
They went on to say that the bird was in a terrible condition, with two badly broken legs and a missing tail. It was taken to the vet for examination and unfortunately had to be euthanized.
The wild bird was most probably kept in captivity for several months which led to its terrible condition, Birdlife concluded.
