Treasures of Malta stamp issue features Dwejra & Ta’ Cenc

The Philatelic Bureau of MaltaPost p.l.c. will be issuing a philatelic commemorative set of four stamps titled ‘Treasures of Malta’ on Tuesday the 19th of October 2010.

The philatelic stamps will feature some of the Islands’ natural treasures and depicts four fascinating sites in the Maltese Islands, the ‘Azure Window – the Natural Arch found at Dwejra Point Cliffs in Gozo, the Blue Grotto – the natural seawater cavern located near Zurrieq in Malta, the vertical sea cliffs at Ta’Cenc on Gozo and the small uninhabited islet of Filfa.

The stamps will carry a face value of €0.37, €0.51, €0.67 and €1.16, of which an amount of 50,000 of each will be issued. The stamps are designed by the local artist Cedric Galea Pirotta. The size of the stamps is 44.0 mm x 31.0 mm with a perforation of 13.9 x 14.0 (comb). All stamps have been offset printed on Maltese Crosses watermarked paper by Printex Limited and are available in sheets of 10.

The ‘Treasures of Malta’ philatelic commemorative set will be available as from Tuesday the19th of October from all MaltaPost branches in Malta and Gozo and from the MaltaPost Mobile Van.
