The month of October is a reminder to emphasise on breast cancer awareness. The sum of €10,600 raised by Helping Hands Foundation have been donated to the Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Directorate (DHPDP) to support a campaign on raising awareness on breast cancer.
The directorate in collaboration with The Breast Care Support Group Europa Donna Malta (BCSGED) and the Action for Breast Cancer Foundation (ABCF) launched the “Love your body, love your self be breast aware campaign” this month.
The feedback received from the general public following the launch of this campaign was very good and this is very encouraging to keep offering the advice, help and support.
A number of outreach events will be organised as follows:
Walk for life, a fun 10km walk from Marsaxlokk square at 10.00 am to Valletta waterfront on Saturday 23rd October organised by the Action for Breast Cancer Foundation
The Hilda Schembri Memorial Lecture at the Hotel Phoenicia on the 28th October at 19:30 hours organised by The Breast Care Support Group
30th /31st October – Breast Awareness Campaign at The Duke, Gozo organised by The Breast Care Support Group
6th November – breast awareness campaign at Arkadia Gozo, a joint campaign by the Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Directorate (DHPDP), the Breast Care Support Group Europa Donna Malta (BCSGED) and the Action for Breast Cancer Foundation (ABCF).
