On the 13th November 2010, The Gozo CCU Foundation presented the third Winter Interlude at the Grand Hotel, Mgarr, Gozo. A great number of people attended the event, and some of them came over from England specifically to attend it.
In her speech Dame Carmen Bellamy thanked everyone for attending the event and conveyed her sincere gratitude to all the benefactors including the ones who could not attend that evening, all the small businesses in Gozo and Malta who supported the Foundation, Dame Ruth Sammut Casingena and the members of the Voice Studio, The San Damian Choir under the baton of Therese Vella and James Perry, The Wallace Pipes and Drums who for the forth time came from Malta to entertain the guests. All these had given their services free of charge. Thanks also went to Alfio Rapa of the The Grand Hotel and his staff for their support and excellent service that they gave to the guests.
During the Reception, the guests were able to watch a DVD showing all the equipment that has been installed in the CCU/ITU Ward by the CCU Foundation and also the three ECG Machines that have recently been provided for use throughout the Gozo Hospital. Dame Carmen Bellamy said that the equipment that has been installed by the CCU Foundation had transformed the ITU/CCU Ward into a modern and efficient Ward to the benefit of patients and the Nurses
Dame Carmen Bellamy and her Committee then presented Senior Nurses, Michael Cini and Carmel Camilleri, with a ‘Rescue Bag’ to compliment the defibrillators that they provided for the Ward last November. This bag will help the Nurses work more efficiently when attending emergency situations.
The continued efforts of the Gozo CCU Foundation to carry on raising funds to purchase 2 much needed Ventilators continues and Carmen urged everyone to carry on supporting the Foundation so that this aim is achieved in the shortest possible time.
