As in previous years on the 10th of February Heritage Malta will be celebrating the feast of St Paul by opening San Pawl Milqi to the public during the afternoon. The site is not normally open to the public. Tours of the site will take place every 45 minutes with the first one starts at 1.30pm and the last one will be at 4.30pm.
San Pawl Milqi is the site of a Roman villa at Burmarrad which according to tradition is where St Paul was given hospitality following his shipwreck in Malta in AD 60. The chapel which is still standing dates back to 1616.
Archaeological excavations carried out in the 1960s uncovered a large agricultural area dating from the 2nd to 3rd centuries B.C. Tickets for the event cost Euro 4 each, students and senior members pay Euro 2 each while Heritage Malta members and children under 12 enter free of charge.
