A man died early yesterday evening after getting into difficulties while swimming at Dwejra
The police said that members of the public had given first aid to the man after helping to get him out of the sea.
The man, who is from Ghajnsielem and 60-years of age, was taken from the scene by a medical team to Gozo General Hospital.
A full inquiry is underway. It is understood that an autopsy is being carried out today to confirm cause of death.
