Work well underway on the Three Hills Gardens in Marsalforn

The Ministry for Gozo said that work on the Three Hills Gardens, Marsalforn project, which is to be named “Gnejnet it-Tliet Gholjiet,” is well advanced and will be ready to be enjoyed by everyne in the near future. The Minister for Gozo, Giovanna Debono, visited the site this morning with Frederick Azzopardi, Parliamentary Assistant within the Ministry for Gozo.

The ongoing work on this garden includes the construction of rubble walls, installations of lighting systems, irrigation and drainage. The main construction work is due to be completed soon, this included paths and a reservoir built to collect rain water for use in the gardens. Currently tenders are underway for the supply of garden furniture and games structures suitable for children. Most of the seven hundred and fifty trees that are to be planted are indigenous trees. These are being sponsored by Magro Brothers, ten trees for every year that the Three Hills Brand has been on the Maltese market.

The Minister for Gozo said that “besides creating a prominent place of recreation for families from Gozo and Malta as well as tourists, this project will continue to add more green space to beautify and enhance the rural environment of the island.” The Minister for Gozo also explained how this project is one of four gardens which are associated with a programme of afforestation within the action plan linked to the eco-Gozo vision.

Mrs. Mary Saliba, Chairman of the Management Committee of Marsalforn and Mr Charles Saliba, the Mayor of Zebbug were also present for the visit.

Work on this garden is being coordinated by the Ministry for Gozo while Magro Brothers Foods Company Ltd will be providing trees to be planted upon completion of structural work.
