With Christmas just two months away, several volunteers in Ghajnsielem have enthusiastically started construction works on the 4th edition of the nativity village, Bethlehem f’Ghajnsielem.
The live crib which is expected to be inaugurated in the 2nd week of December promises, as in previous editions, to once again offer a unique experience of the timeless story of Nativity.
Several volunteers and local organisations together with the Ghajnsielem Parish packed the main hall at St. Joseph Band Club for a meeting organised by the Ghajnsielem Local Council and the Bethlehem f’ Ghajnsielem Foundation.
During the meeting, Ghajnsielem Mayor, Francis Cauchi, explained the planning process at MEPA which relates to the construction of the area, while also announcing that the Local Council has already applied to turn this area into an all-year-round recreational park. The Mayor encouraged all volunteers to contribute whatever they could in time and help in order to repeat the success of the last three year.
Franco Ciangura spoke about the need to work together as one team for the common good of Ghajnsielem and gave a brief resumè of what Bethlehem f’Ghajnsielem 2011 will offer. He also offered some suggestions for discussion among those present.
Meanwhile, all volunteers are being urged to give a helping hand this weekend at ‘Ta Passi.’
