Two dogs sadly abandoned on Ta’ Cenc cliffs in Gozo

The Gozo SPCA are asking for help with information on these two very frightened little dogs that were abandoned. “A kind young man took pity on these two sad little dogs (probably Yorkshire terrier crosses) when he found them abandoned on Ta’ Cenc cliffs and took them home, he then cared for them for a few days before bringing them to Gozo SPCA, where he knew they would get the skilled attention they desperately need,” the SPCA spokesperson said.

“They are in a very dirty and neglected condition (photo shows them on arrival) and they are difficult to age, but would appear to be between five and seven years old. They could be father and son, or brothers.”

“They are very gentle and quiet and appear to be traumatised by their experience. After much-needed baths they will have a thorough veterinary examination before starting the programme of parasite treatments, vaccinations, micro chipping and neutering.”

Gozo SPCA would be glad to hear from anybody who could identify these tiny dogs.

Any information will be treated as strictly confidential. So please contact Gozo SPCA through info@spca-gozo.org [1] or call 21553769.

this is not the first time that dogs were abandoned in this place, probably increased recently. my belief is that there will be more of these if the law of microchipping is enforced as many owners are seeing microchipping as a fee and not as a benefit for their pets as I see it.
