Discovery Networks has announced that TLC, the international female entertainment channel, will launch on Melita, on channel [Channel 403] as of February 1st 2012. The channel is an upgraded Discovery Travel & Living with a line-up of inspirational entertainment programmes from around the world covering fashion, food, parenting, weddings, travel and lifestyle.
“TLC will offer viewers the best of Discovery Travel & Living including hit series Cake Boss, Say Yes To The Dress, What Not To Wear and Toddlers & Tiaras while introducing some great brand new content too. The channel which finds extra-ordinary real life characters and tells their stories will join Discovery Networks other channels – Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, Discovery World, Discovery Science, ID: Investigation Discovery and Discovery HD Showcase which are already broadcast on Melita,” the company said.

Top new series on the channel in February include World’s Worst Mum, introducing Lenore Skenazy who made headlines around the world in April 2008 when she allowed her nine-year-old son, Izzy, to travel on the New York subway on his own. Dubbed “America’s Worst Mom,” Lenore is now on an intrepid mission: to stage family interventions freeing kids smothered by their over-protective parents.
TLC’s first game show Money on the Menu will see mischievous host Nick Stevens giving unsuspecting delivery patrons the shock of a lifetime when he knocks on their door posing as a food delivery man. Not only has he brought the food, but he has also brought along a full production crew, ready to stage a mobile game show.
Viewers can also look forward to other popular series such as Mob Wives, Too Fat for Fifteen: Fighting Back, I Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant or Happily Ever Laughter.
