Last Saturday the Anglican Bishop, Dr Geoffrey Rowell, Bishop of Gibraltar in Europe, was the special guest at the Gozo Seminary, where he lectured in English on Cardinal John Henry Newman, who in September 2010, The Holy Father declared the Cardinal will “henceforth be invoked as Blessed.” Cardinal Newman is linked both to the Catholic Church and the Anglican Church.
The conference was attended by several priests as well as a number of members of the Anglican Community in Gozo, accompanied by their Chaplain.
Bishop Rowell was greeted by Bishop Mario Grech and the Rector of the Seminary, Fr Daniel Xerri.
Before the conference Mgr Joseph Farrugia, who teaches Dogmatic theology at the Sacred Heart Seminary and the University of Malta, gave an introduction to those present.
